An Idea

Writing always begins with an idea. If a writer has no clue of what he's going to write, he'll have a difficult time producing a quality piece. This is the tragedy of Writers Block. Most writers have probably come to realize that sitting in front of a computer screen or blank piece of paper and waiting for an idea to come isn't particularly effective. Ideas come at random, so when we get these ideas, we need to write them down.

The Notebook

When a writer is blessed with an idea, he should record it. A great way to do this is with a simple notebook, and a good pen. Try carrying the notebook around with you. If you randomly have an epiphany about that novel you've been writing, grab your trusty notebook and write it down. The notebook doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just handy and portable.

Great post! True ideas come up at any time, while your working, while your travelling and they disappear just as soon as they are conceived if you don't note them. Sometime I too just stare at my computer thinking OK now im gonna write something up. Atleast its safe to say this one time I actually started off with a blank mind and ended up producing one of my finest pieces so far. Each sentence I typed, I was able to paint a picture in my mind and the more I wrote, the more clear the picture became.

Would love your feedback on how you think it turned out. Please do check out my post at thatstwowords.blogspot.com. Its called those 2 extra hours :))

Thanks for your feedback. It's greatly appreciated. I went ahead and checked your story out, it's a good story. I left a comment directly on the story, from Savanna.

Every now and then an idea will come at our convenience, but unfortunately we can't always rely on that. (Which is why I love my notebook so.) A good long walk can sometimes cure the problem, though. :)

I would love some feedback on my blog, MyForgottenPen (A Progressive Writing Guide). (http://myforgottenpen.com)

Thanks so much. :)

A very informative and well-written hub, but there could definitely be a little more content added to the page. Thanks for sharing.
